About our services

There shouldn't be anything daunting about your first appointment with Reach Vet Physio. We have compiled a list of common enquiries that our clients have had prior to their appointments which provide more information about what to expect.

Is physiotherapy right for my animal?

Physiotherapy offers a broad spectrum of care so we are certain that at least one aspect of our treatments will be suited to helping your animal with whatever is needed.  As a physiotherapist, we are responsible for acting under the direction of your veterinarian if your animal has a diagnosed condition. In this case, we will consult with them directly to establish the most effective treatment package for you.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

For canines:

We ask that your dog has had their usual walk prior to an appointment and we find that dogs relax best in a space where they are familiar. We ask that they have a comfortable area to lie down such as their bed or an area of carpet and that distractions are kept to a minimum throughout their session.

For equines:

We ask that your horse is kept as clean and dry as possible on the day of their session (although we understand this is not always possible!). We will need an area where they are comfortable standing for the treatment and a place where they can be assessed walking and trotting up.

How to pay for my appointment?

All payments will be taken on the day of the appointment. This can be done via: card payment, cash or bank transfer.

What to expect after my appointment?

Following your appointment, treatment notes detailing what was found in the session will be emailed over to you. The notes will also include details of the treatments performed and the prescribed home exercises, if applicable. Re-booking will ideally be done at the time of the appointment, within a timeframe that will be dependant on your animal's needs.
